Man this sucks for him and the Sens but at the end of the day health has to come first.

I think everyone wants him to stay safe. If he hangs them up now there is a good chance he will find a good fit in the hockey world. He is a likeable and articulate guy. Fans of multiple teams were pulling for him. Wonder if he may have a fit in broadcasting?

I think it is relief for management and fans. Nobody wants to see someone seriously hurt. You could not help but worry how fragile he was every shift he took.

Awful news about Mac, you have to assume that he will hang them up now.. The question is now, what do they do to replace him in the lineup?

Last season was the most fun ive had in 20 years of being a Sens fan. As for Mac it's got to be hard news to swallow, but in 20 years down the road him and his loved ones will be thankful his health and well being were put first.

Last season was such a fun ride from start to finish.

Hate to say it but Mac not being medically cleared is probably best for both him and the organization. He can now focus on his health and Ottawa gets an additional 4.65 of cap space. This helps with the upcoming deals for 7/61/65 or allows them room to sign a Jagr or possibly trade for Duchene. At the very least it gives a chance to one of the kids to get more ice time.

He played great in the playoffs nd had some big moments. Not a bad note to go out on. Hes got his youth, his family and he's set for life financially. Wish him all the best.

Who will the Sens be missing from the last game in the playoffs? Methot, Karlsson, Brassard, and now MacArthur.

Sens should look at guys like Landeskog, Skinner..... even Evander Kane - but I doubt giving up a lot for him makes sense. But wonder what he could do under Boucher
